Summary of Position:
Responsible for MIG Welding of component parts together in the manner described by print, in a timely manner.
- Candidates must be willing to work through a staffing firm for a minimum of 90 days.
- This position is for Night Shift
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for all welder related activity and training
- Understands the functions of mig welding
- Understands how to fit parts together
- Understands how to make fixtures or jigs for certain parts
- Knows the differences between material types, sizes and shapes
- Welder must have the ability to pass weld qualification test within 9 months of hire
Qualifications, Trainings, & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Reasoning: ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
- Mathematical: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute ratio, rate, and percent; ability to read and interpret metal rule.
- Language: good command of the English language, both written and verbal
Physical/Mental Demands
- Regularly required to lift/carry 20 to 40 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently
- Regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel and reach
- Regularly required to stand and walk
- Regularly required to push or pull objects up to 40 pounds
Environmental Working Conditions
- Work performed in a shop environment
- Environment is not climate controlled
- May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another during the assembly process
- The noise level in the work environment, at times, can be loud
